The Super Hero Squad Show Volume 1 Review
I am a comic book geek. Well, I was until I had kids and had to start buying diapers instead comics. I have tried to think for years on how to get my kids into comic characters and all of the imaginative stories that come along with these iconic beings of super-ness. I was really pleased when I got word that Marvel was going to start putting out a new show using a whole heapin’ of their super heroes! This show is really geared to younger kids but, stays true to comic likenesses that I have seen throughout my years in the realm of comics. The young-lings laugh at the silly jokes and I “marvel” at the short quips and throwbacks to yesteryear!
The most powerful object in the universe, the INFINITY SWORD, has been shattered (oops!) in a battle between IRON MAN and DR. DOOM. But Doom doesn’t give up easily; he’ll leave no stone unturned until he recovers every last shard. Iron Man snags the best heroes around to beat Doom at his own game: WOLVERINE, HULK, THOR, the SILVER SURFER and a hotshot flyer named THE FALCON. With friends like CAPTAIN AMERICA and MS. MARVEL, and with tons of other heroes helping out, Iron Man can lead the Super Hero Squad to victory!
In addition to a great look that kids won’t be afraid of or too intimidated by, there is HUGE list of celebrity voice actors and it’s really fun while watching and picking out the actors! Featuring the guest voices of Adrian Pasdar (Heroes), Robert Englund (A Nightmare On Elm Street), Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica), Greg Grunberg (Heroes), James Marsters (Buffy The Vampire Slayer), Lena Headey (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) LeVar Burton, Taye Diggs and Stan Lee! The kids loved it and I totally tolerated it!
