      Um… ya… I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume, or at least hope that this was only a teenager. A young one? Perhaps one that might have, hopefully, a few more years of high school in front of them? Either that, did they have a strong southern accent (like some of my redneck relatives) and pronounce “plain” as “pli-ain with an extra syllable tossed in there?
