Mickey, Pooh, and Christmas Too! (Closed)
Yes, it is that time already. Stores are getting decorations, kids are getting their lists together, and me reviewing these movies mean that Christmas is totally right around the corner! On September 29th Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment released DISNEY ANIMATION COLLECTION VOL. 7: MICKEY’S CHRISTMAS CAROL and WINNIE THE POOH: SEASONS OF GIVING 10TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION on DVD! I was giddy as a reindeer on his first sleigh flight when I found out that I was going to be able to review these movie’s for you guys!
DISNEY ANIMATION COLLECTION VOLUME 7: MICKEY’S CHRISTMAS CAROL
Celebrate the holidays with Mickey’s Christmas Carol, a beloved classic short film that is now part of the Disney Animation Collection! Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and many more of your favorite characters join the cast in this delightfully charming adaptation of a classic holiday tale. Ebeneezer Scrooge (Scrooge McDuck) is far too greedy to understand that Christmas is the time for kindness and generosity. So, with the guidance of some wise ghosts (with Goofy and Jiminy Cricket), and the examples set by his clerk Bob Cratchit (Mickey Mouse) and nephew Fred (Donald Duck), Scrooge learns how to embrace the true spirit of the season. Each volume in the Disney Animation Collection series is packed with classic Disney short films that will bring laughter and merriment into your family’s home.
In addition to the main feature there are three more shorts on the disc. “Pluto’s Christmas Tree” features an appearance by the oh-so-meddling Chip and Dale. “The Small One” is the story of the smallest donkey of four siblings who always got the short end of everything but ends up lending some help to a traveler named Joseph and giving a ride to his very pregnant wife Mary. “Santa’s Workshop” is the short story of Santa Claus and his elves getting ready for Christmas eve.
Mickey’s Christmas Carol has a run-time of 64 Minutes and retails for $19.99!
WINNIE THE POOH: SEASONS OF GIVING 10th ANNIVERSARY EDITION DVD
Set in the Hundred Acre Woods, Winnie the Pooh: Seasons of Giving 10th Anniversary Edition follows Pooh, Piglet, Tigger and Rabbit on a brave quest to find a favorite season they have seemed to miss – winter. Accompany them on a wild search for the perfect ingredients to creative a festive Thanksgiving feast and share in the warm glow of a Christmas that brings a surprise from a very special friend.
I had never seen this movie before now and thought it was very cute and heart warming. I asked the kiddos what they thought of it and Taylor said “oh yeah, yep, I liked it…..can we watch it again?” This Anniversary Edition includes two new-to-DVD (U.S only) Pooh episodes (“The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: The Magic Earmuffs,” “The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: The Wishing Bear”) plus five heartfelt songs and a collectible Christmas stocking.
Winnie The Pooh: Seasons Of Giving has a run-time of 63 minutes and retails for $29.99!
If you are ready for silver bells and Tigger tails, then you will probably want to spend some time with you and your children if from of the tube watching these. I have no real gripes about these two films, animation looks good, sound is clear and not old and brittle, and still makes me sit in awe over how wrapped up I get in all of the characters!
Mickey’s Christmas Carol and Winnie the Pooh: Seasons of Giving are available at Amazon and at other retailers nationwide.

My favorite part of the holidays is Christmas Eve Mass with my family and the kids just bursting with excitement at the seams. We come home to have dinner and exchange gifts among the family before getting the kids off to bed. Then the real excitement and anticipation begins. Oh, wait just forget that last statement. Just go with the first sentence.

Chris Clairmont on October 7th, 2009 10:12 am
My favorite thing about the holidays was always spending time with my father. He worked a lot…to the point where he turned down a promotion even though it would have meant more money, but he rarely saw myself and my mother as it was, and he would have been spending even more time at work. But, come Christmas time, he would always take off those days to spend at home with us. Those are my fondest Christmas memories. I’ve not had as many opportunities as I’ve liked to visit home since I’ve “grown up” and started my own family, but I’m hoping my son enjoys his time with me as much as I enjoyed my time with my father.
