WordLock Review
A combination of numbers are hard to remember. I’ve had a combination lock in my hand and spun the dial back and forth trying different numbers of what I thought was the right numbers. Now someone has come along and put an end to all of that by replacing numbers with words and letter combinations. Isn’t a word easier to remember? Could it be because we use words over and over when we speak, read or write? Words are used everyday. WordLock takes that fact and uses it to our advantage and makes locks that use words instead of number combinations to unlock a combination lock.
I got to try a 5 letter resettable padlock and a 4 letter Mini cable lock. The 5 letter combination padlock was a cinch to open and once I did open it, I reset to my own word combination. I did it three times. Open it. Reset it. Lock it. Open it again. It is very easy to do and easy to remember.
I gave the 4 letter combination cable lock to my 11 year old son and showed the word combination to him only once. Five days later, he still remembers it. That is a load off of my mind because he uses it to lock his bike. If he remembers the lock combination, I feel he will use it and if he will use it, then he will lock his bike.
The padlock is great. It has up to 100,000 word and letter combinations that are easy to set and reset and so easy to remember the combination. It feels solid and strong and available in Spanish too.
The Mini Cable Lock does not reset but like I said, my son remembered it easily. It has 10,000 different letter and word combinations. The only complaint I have is the plastic cover over the point where the cable meets the lock comes off from the pressure of pulling the lock apart when it’s unlocked. I would say it’s poorly designed or manufactured if after only a week it comes apart. Besides that, I like the concept of using a word instead of a number combination for a lock. Especially if your kids forget their number combination to their locks at school or for their bikes. If they forget the number then they won’t use the lock and that can turn into an expensive mistake.

We really need to lock up our outdoor faucet somehow. The drug dealer across the street is out of jail now, and we know he steals water and electricity from houses in the neighborhood.
