ReBoot Seasons 1 and 2 Review and Giveaway

Way back in the day I used to catch this cartoon on TV that was all 3-D and stuff. I mean like 3-D in the early 90’s…not way over-hyped and over-priced 3-D of today. This show was called ReBoot. Since early 1990s, Dot Matrix, Enzo, Guardian Bob and thousands of Binomes from ReBoot have thrust into battles with corrupt forces of Megabyte and Hexadecimal to stop their relentless pursuit of chaos and destruction of the high-tech city Mainframe. ReBoot made history for being the first fully computer-generated animated TV series when it debuted on U.S and Canadian television in 1994.

ReBoot ran for four successful seasons and was seen in over 70 countries around the world, boasting a large fan base of loyal followers in kids and adult gamers alike. The show’s unique setting inside a computer allows the characters and storylines to mine the references to computers and video games for all they’re worth, giving the show its humorous edge. The innovative animation, insider humor and high octane action combine to give viewers a lot of binary bang for their buck. Now you can relive the fast-paced animated action adventures the long-awaited Reboot: Seasons 1 and 2 DVD set out now from Shout! Factory, in association with Rainmaker Entertainment, Inc. This collectible 4-DVD set features all 23 episodes from the first and second seasons, along with special commentary by producer Christopher Brough, designer and storyboard artist Blair Peters and animator Zeke Norton.

Ryan’s Rating: 6 out of 10!!

Pros:  Great storylines that still entertain my kids after several watches.

Cons:   Like other “classic” cartoons you can tell it is a little dated.

A 5 Year Old and His Zombie Game

Here is a little video of Rylan playing Left for Dead 2. Is it wrong to let my son play these types of games? Some people say yes and some say no. I do restrict the playing of games that deal with killing or the death of the living, but we say bring on the annihilation of the undead. What do you think?

Quiznos Goodness Giveaway

You guys know I have ranted and raved about Quiznos and their sandwiches. I used to be a Chicken Carbonara kinda guy but then I fell in love with the Prime Rib sub. The thing that always made me feel super awesome in my tummy when I chomped on this sandwich (besides the meat) is the peppercorn sauce. I really have to limit my intake on these if I want to stay in the good graces of my wife. The thing that makes this harder is that Quiznos has had some new additions to their menu.

Now they have birthed the new Prime Rib on Garlic Bread, Prime Rib & Blue and Chipotle Prime Rib subs that bring Quiznos’ tally of prime rib sandwiches to a whopping eight. These new prime ribs subs will be permanent menu additions in the Quiznos line of signature subs, alongside current Quiznos prime rib favorites: Prime Rib Mushroom & Swiss, Prime Rib & Peppercorn, Double Cheese Cheesesteak, Steakhouse Prime Rib Dip and Bourbon Grille Steak. Oh mylanta!

Now if you are like me and are trying to stay healthy, trim , fit, and in the good graces of your spouse you may want to eat a little bit lighter fare.  The menu choices that are under 500 calories are probably the way to go.  They have around twenty subs that are under 500 calories!

In addition to the prime rib subs, Quiznos also introduced:

  • 2 new under 500 calorie subs: Chicken Cordon Bleu and Caprese
  • Ultimate Turkey Club
  • 3 new desserts: Apple Cobbler, Dark Chocolate Bar, Chocolate Fudge Brownie

Giveaway

One (1) winner will receive a $15 Quiznos gift card so you can indulge!

Mars Needs Mars Giveaway

A new movie that is coming out is peaking my interest more and more. Mars Needs Moms is a new movie that comes out on March 11th from Walt Disney Studios. I hope to check this movie out in the next couple of weeks and fill you guys in on what I thought.

Take out the trash, eat your broccoli—who needs moms, anyway? Nine-year-old Milo (Seth Green) finds out just how much he needs his mom (Joan Cusack) when she’s nabbed by Martians who plan to steal her mom-ness for their own young. Produced by the team behind “Disney’s A Christmas Carol” and “The Polar Express,” “Mars Needs Moms” showcases Milo’s quest to save his mom—a wild adventure in Disney Digital 3D™ and IMAX® 3D that involves stowing away on a spaceship, navigating an elaborate, multi-level planet and taking on the alien nation and their leader (Mindy Sterling). With the help of a tech-savvy, underground earthman named Gribble (Dan Fogler) and a rebel Martian girl called Ki (Elisabeth Harnois), Milo just might find his way back to his mom—in more ways than one.

One (1) winner will receive a Mars Needs Moms Gift Pack that includes a Mars Needs Moms Adult Size T-Shirt, Mars Needs Moms Youth Size T-Shirt and Moms Needs Mars Temporary Tattoos (3-pack)

The New and Improved Lands’ End Polo Review and Giveaway

I like clothes. They cover me instead of being naked. For this reason clothes are important to me. Even more importantly I like great looking and great fitting clothes. So, in my efforts to find the best of both worlds in clothing the new and improved Lands’ End Polo was brought to my attention.  This shirt is nice.  It is a heavier shirt than some of those wussy-boy ones that I have been seeing in the last few years.  You know the ones that when you need your size you have to go up two sizes so it doesn’t stick to you like casing on a sausage.  I don’t like the “athletic fit”.  This shirt fits like it should.  Just like a classic, yet redesigned, polo shirt.

This classic wardrobe staple has been redesigned to feature:

  • Jersey-taped seams on the neck and shoulders add comfort
  • Fabric that is heftier and softer than ever before
  • No-curl collar that lies flat wash after wash

Ryan’s Rating: 8 out of 10!!

Pros:  Nice fit, no tags, and my wife thinks I look good in it.

Cons:   I don’t have enough to wear one every day.

Three (3) winners will win a New and Improved Lands’ End Polo!

The Logitech HD Pro Webcam C910

Everything seems to be in HD these days. Whether it’s in the theater, on the TV, and now on our phones…HD is the way to go. Recently I wanted to figure out what would work for me and what I wanted to do for my HD video needs. Since my wife Crystal has been traveling more and more I wanted to find one way for us to stay in touch not only in audio form but in video form too. Also, I was looking into having video to go along with my podcast so that I can interact with my audience better. After searching a bit Logitech sent me over their HD Pro Webcam C910.

The HD Pro Webcam C910 is a sleek looking little number. It boasts high definition video up to 1080p, a wide-angle lens and autofocus for picture quality that’s simply amazing. Video chat, blog, stream and upload to Facebook in just one click. The term ‘webcam’ doesn’t quite do it justice. Logitech Fluid Crystal Technology gives you smooth, fluid video. Crystal clear images. Rich colors. It’s all stuffed in here like a Thanksgiving turkey…except without salmonella.

Here is what my webcam on my laptop looks like. It was so bad the audio doesn’t even sync up with the video.

Here is what it looks like once I installed the Logitech HD Pro Webcam C910. This quality is nice twice.

One sweet feature that we all loved to sit around and just play with was the mask and avatar features. You can have fun with effects like Video Masks you can make from any photo—transform your video image into animals, celebrities or even your family pet. My favorite mask was the one I did were I put my eyes and mouth onto a picture of Batman. I must have talked to the kids with that thing for at least ten minutes straight. I also liked using the avatar function that they have where you can turn yourself into all sorts of things like a dinosaur, an alien, and alley cat, or even a comical shark.

  • Full HD 1080p video recording
  • Fluid HD 720p video calls in 16:9 widescreen
  • Precision Carl Zeiss optics and autofocus for razor-sharp video and brilliant 10MP photos
  • Noise-cancelling dual mics for HD-quality stereo audio—a first for HD webcams
  • Convenient cable management system reduces clutter
  • 1-click video upload to Facebook and YouTube
  • Easy HD calling on included Logitech Vid HD and most major IM services

Ryan’s Rating: 9 out of 10!!

Pros: Very sleek and such great video quality.

Cons: Just make sure you don’t run it on an older system or it may get a little choppy.
