Lands’ End SnowSystem Jacket Review
So it’s that time of the year that I love. The season that warms my heart. No, not football season….Fall and Winter! I have been in the market for a new coat or jacket. I typically look for something that looks like its going to work well in any situation and last for a very long time. Just in the nick of time I was given the chance to try out Lands’ End SnowSystem Jacket. I know, I know, you are saying to me “Ryan….you live in Texas!” You are right and we do still have a winter here too, believe it or not! The thing is with the weather, you never know if it is going to go from 25 degrees at night and heat up to 50 degrees by afternoon. With this jacket you can actually wear it three ways. The outside shell of the jacket can be unzipped from the inside of the jacket and worn separately or together if you are going to be experiencing crazy cold weather. So in essence I have several options when thinking about my day and if I am going to be “covered” in the right weather situation.
Our SnowSystem™ Jacket wears three ways, to take on any weather. The outer shell and inside liner are designed to wear separately or zip together for maximum protection. The outer shell features our exclusive AquaCheck® laminate, to give you waterproof protection that’s breathable. It also comes with pit zips to vent off excess heat, a zip-out powder skirt to keep the snow out on those epic ski runs and an adjustable hood with welded visor. Along with all that, there are interior mesh sunglass, goggle and cell phone pockets along with a zip-close MP3 player pocket with cord port. The inner jacket/liner is made from DriOff™-treated polyester with our exclusive PolarThin™ insulation for warmth without bulk. Overall I really do like the jacket. I feel that I can be comfortable in varying degrees of weather by utilizing the varying ways to wear it. I also do appreciate the quality of the craftsmanship: good seams, durable materials, and durable hardware (zippers and buttons). The only bad thing that I would have to say about it is that some of the inner pockets aren’t very secure and seems like if you were to put something in there, be cautionary about it staying in one place. Saying that….there are plenty more pockets to keep your belongings safe and secure.

Giraffalaff Limbo and Scatterpillar Scramble Review and Giveaway (Closed)
So in today’s world kids are inundated by ads or commercials encouraging them to watch cartoon marathons, play a new addictive video game for 27 hours straight, or heck…..even join a virtual world! I am not against all of those, but I do try and make it a point to play REAL tangible games from time to time. Theres nothing like sitting down next to a real person and having a friendly competition with a friend or family member. I grew up playing board games and have such good memories playing them with my family.
It made “game night” even easier when Hasbro and MyBlogSpark sent me Giraffalaff Limbo and Scatterpillar Scramble. These two games had my kids cracking up. My oldest who is 6 wanted to make sure that she did everything in her power to show her little brothers that she was a professional gamer. My middle child thought that the moves of the Scatterpillar were funny yet annoying and wanted it to stay still so he could win. He also put all of those super-hero acrobatics to the test on Giraffalaff Limbo. My youngest thought that if he concentrated enough he could figure it all out and take all the glory for himself! They may all play differently, but the one thing I see in their little eyes is the same thing my parents and grandparent saw in my eyes when I was their age, complete immersion and love of these types of games.

- GIRAFFALAFF LIMBO is the crazy new game of “how low can you go?” Spin the dial to try one of the 6 limbo styles: classic limbo, crab walk, crawl, giraffe walk, bend forward or backward. The game’s built-in sound will play an encouraging song as preschoolers try not to bump into Giraffalaff. If he’s knocked over, he’ll roll on the floor in laughter. Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure DVD Review and Giveaway (Closed)
A couple of years ago when I first heard that Tinker Bell was going to be in an all new feature starring herself I was shocked. The reason being was that she was always associated with Peter Pan. Wherever he was, Tink wasn’t far behind. So I wasn’t sure how she could carry a whole feature length movie on her own. To add to that……she didn’t ever speak! To say the least I was pleased to see her first movie, 2008’s “Tinker Bell”. In a way I think it revitalized the franchise by exploring new avenues to appeal to new fans while including nostalgic references for long time fans.
Well, Tinker Bell is back in a brand new adventure “Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure”. As the movie opens you see the fairies helping in bringing about the changing season. This looks absolutely amazing and is animated brilliantly. Since all of the origin stuff was handled in the last movie, the movie starts out and continues to get good fast. I looked at my wife within the first 20 minutes and mouthed “moving fast, huh?” which she replied “yeah, it’s kinda nice!” You meet up with a bunch of familiar characters from the previous film and a few new ones too. One of our favorite characters is Terence. His relationship with Tink is a really positive and inspiring example of friendship.
Tinker Bell’s greatest adventure yet takes place in Autumn, as the fairies are on the mainland changing the colors of the leaves, tending to pumpkin patches, and helping geese fly south for the winter. The rare Blue Moon will rise, and when its light passes through the magical Fall Scepter that Tinker Bell has been summoned to create, Pixie Hollow’s supply of pixie dust will be restored. But when Tinker Bell accidentally puts all of Pixie Hollow in jeopardy, she must venture out across the sea on a secret quest to set things right.
Along her journey Tink meets new friends, including Blaze, a cute and courageous firefly that helps Tinker Bell complete her mission. It’s a long and dangerous journey, full of astonishing encounters, a few narrow escapes and a daring rescue by Tink’s friend Terence.
My Mini-Synopsis of the Movie
So we start with the seasons changing. Tinker Bell is tinkering. Tink is notified and given the announcement that it is now a “Tinker’s” turn to create a scepter that will amplify the moon light and change it to “blue pixie dust” so that it can be harvested and collected to revive the pixie dust tree. Tink takes on the task with Terence. Tink makes a boo-boo. Tink argues with Terence and blames him. Then with no other hope, takes off in a pixie dust powered flying balloon. Meets a new lightening bug friend named Blaze. They pass up old Peter Pan familiar locations like “Skull Rock” and even get some pirate references in there too. Meets back up with Terence and then at the end they…….no no no! I’m not giving it away! You will have to see for yourself!

Anti-Monkey Butt Powder (Closed)
Soooooooo…I am going to assume that everyone knows what “monkey butt” is. If you are not familiar with the term then go look it up. There’s no way I am linking to that on my site, no telling what I will get! The fact is that the condition exists and there are ways to take care of it and/or prevent it. I received the Anti-Monkey Butt Powder and at first like “how am I going to talk about this?”, but pretty much all of us have had a time or two where we have said “ouch” in the rear area. So, I will be the first to say…Yes…I have had monkey butt before and it is no fun at all. When I got the bottle of Anti-Monkey Butt Powder I was kind of relieved that from now on every time that I sit and drive around my 2 acres on my riding lawnmower in 100 degree heat, I won’t have to worry about walking funny or trying to figure out how to soothe it. Upon trying it I found that it was cooling in a way. It was light and hardly noticeable, and it actually had a pleasent smell that didn’t come off too medicinal. The only thing is…I am not a pro at “applying” powder to my backside.
