Smallville Season 8
Once again I am blown away by what I was able to review. I was given the chance to review Smallville Season 8. All I can is say that even after eight seasons now, I still get chills when I hear Remy Zero start up playing “Somebody Saaaaaaaave meeeeeee!” In my honest opinion, the year before in season 7, I felt like the show was on the verge of something great. I felt that the series was still figuring out how far they wanted to take the Superman mythos. Season 8 by far, was the one that did it for me and it has become my favorite one as of yet.
In the beginning of this season, Lex Luthor is gone. Tess Mercer has stepped in for Lex’s business operation, Chloe is smarter than the average bear, Doomsday is coming, and Clark finally starts working at the Daily Planet. The story picks up after the events of last season’s finale which ignited a ton of new angles and story lines to be explored and fleshed out. This season showed that with a great hero, you are always going to have many different and interesting villains to keep him on his toes. The addition of Tess Mercer and Davis Bloome added to Clark’s struggles on several levels. The support of the Justice League in Clark’s life is here once again and are always captivating when working together. This season we also saw the appearance of many DC favorites like Plastique, Maxima, Toyman, The Persuader, and Zatanna. Comic fans were also treated to another DC “Golden Boy” in the form of Geoff Johns to write the mid-season episode “Legion”.
If I had an actual “stamp of approval” it would be so plastered on this DVD set that you wouldn’t even be able to tell what it was. So in light of that I don’t really have one, I give it my verbal stamp. The only thing greater than Season 8 of Smallville is that it is going to be followed by Season 9!

Wow......I still get shocked by these screwed up signs that I find.
TMNT Baby!

Upon opening the box, I found that the DVDs were inside a collectible tin zip-case with FOUR DVDs in the case. Four? Are you serious? The movies that were in there were: the original Teenage Mutant Turtles, Teenage Mutant Turtles: The Secret of The Ooze, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles In Time, and TMNT. Now, I was a huge fan of this franchise since the beginning and to be able to introduce my kids to these guys is simply awesome. I once again was able to answer questions about the series because of my experience with the Turtles. This was however, the first time that I had seen TMNT. I didn’t get to see it in it’s theatrical release, because the kids were to small at the time. I must admit…..this movie totally re-ignited my love for the Turtles and thoroughly enjoyed it. The pack had plenty of great bonus features and extras. The metal disc case, tubular tattoos, and the thing that got me most excited…….four…colored….MASKS! We all wore them, and we kicked butt! Anyways, we had a “shell” of time watching these together. It is a must for any new or old school fan! Cowabunga dudes!!
