Forehead Snooze Button

Is there some rulebook that kids have that I don’t know about?  I s there a rule that says the only day that Mommy and Daddy could sleep late, you must wake up early and not even attempt at going back to sleep?  I didn’t get this “rulebook” when I was a youngin’.  I didn’t get up at the crack of dawn and then insist on eating or peeing the very second I woke up.  NO, I was a good boy.  I got up, went to the living room, turned on the TV, made sure that the volume was low, and proceeded to watch Saturday morning cartoons and didn’t bother my parental units until they bothered me!  That’s another thing……what the heck happened to quality cartoons on regular local network stations?  Anyways, now all my kids want to do is wake up and then wake the other siblings up just to start the day and cause havoc!  Maybe once computers start running everything and Skynet has started up (tee-hee), we should install a sleep button to all children’s foreheads.  Couldn’t you just see that “Daddy, I’m hungry—{{{push the child snooze button}}}—and  BOOM! Your child drops to the floor for any amount of time that you set over at snoozemykid.com (not a real site, but thought about buying it though) and lets you get some more of that rest/sleep that you deserve.

My kids are usually pretty good. They get up early but have learned to stay in their room til we come and get them. Except this morning Evan went to the bathroom and decided to sing really loud while he was in there LOL!!!

My older to do just as we did as kids they wake up and go down stairs, turn on the tv get themselve breakfast and wait for the rest of the house to wake up. They are 8 and 20. My 8 yr old just started this past yr.
My 3 yr old cant seem to get the concept yet. He wakes up and the whole house has to be awake. Uuugh! send that button my way when you get it working

There is no part of this post that I can not relate to… here at the circus, we are crying out for those snooze buttons!!!

And why is it on the morning that you actually do have to have all kids dressed nice and out the door, that is the day they sleep in?

We’re very blessed in the bedtime/sleeping department. We’ve trained our 5 year old to entertain himself in the mornings, and how to tell time. He knows that he is not to disturb Mommy until the clock says EIGHT-ZERO-ZERO unless there is fire, blood, stranger, or someone is unconscious [besides him, obviously]. Our 15 month old hates to sleep, and has been that way since birth, so we just use a baby gate on her door-she can’t get out even if she wanted to and she knows it (from many experiments) so she just chills out with her teddy bear and her book and waits…if big brother wants to play in the morning he just climbs on in, if not Mommy will come get her eventually. Even our newborn is pretty laid back-she’s two weeks old and only wakes up 2 or 3 times a night between 9pm and 8am.

Still, even we have our days when everyone decides that THEY NEED MOMMY RIGHT NOW (at 5am). Those days it would be really nice to have a snooze button on the kids.

And I agree there are no good cartoons on network TV anymore. We watch a lot of Noggin.
