Lands’ End Wool Cotton Button Mock Sweater Review and Giveaway (Closed)
Once again my friends over at Lands’ End have entrusted me in telling you all about their Wool Cotton Button Mock Sweater. You see I love the cold weather. My wife hates the cold weather. She loves to hate me for loving the cold weather. I love my wife and now when I take off my jacket to give to her she won’t hate herself because I will have on a sweater that I love.

To boil everything down to give you my honest opinions…there are some good and some bad things about the sweater. One thing that I had an issue with was the collar. I didn’t know how to wear it! I didn’t know if I should lay it down smooth or get “all crunk” by “poppin da colla”. But, I think if I knew the style that it was to be worn in, it would be really good. Speaking of the collar…there are several different ways to make sure your neck area is warm. You can either zip or button the collar in whatever style you desire.
Even though this sweater is 50% wool, it didn’t make me itchy or uncomfortable at all. It really is a comfortable fit and doesn’t bunch up or make me look frumpy like some sweaters can do. Also, it breathes really well while not letting me get cold or allow the elements get to me.
Overall Rating – 8 out of 10

Restaurant.com Celebrates the Gift of Giving With the Feed It Forward Program
Restaurant.com announced on November 26th the return of the “Feed It Forward” program, a 30-day initiative to support the important act of giving, despite these persistent economic hardships. Now until Christmas, individuals are entitled to give up to $9,000 in Restaurant.com gift certificates, from a total pool of $30 million, to family, friends and co-workers located anywhere in the country—at no cost.
The Feed It Forward initiative is built upon a single giving Web site, www.Restaurant.com/FeedItForward, stocked with a total of three million, $10 Restaurant.com gift certificates totaling $30 million. The site will be live through midnight PST on Dec. 25 and allows individuals to go online to give gift certificates on a first come, first serve basis. Gift givers choose whom to give to and gift recipients then decide where to dine among more than 6,500 participating Restaurant.com restaurants nationwide.
To send free $10 gift certificates, gift givers simply enter their name and email address, as well as information for the people they wish to give to—as many as 30 people each day for the length of the initiative. They can go to www.Restaurant.com/FeedItForward every day and share gift certificates with people anywhere in the country, giving out a total value that far exceeds even the most impressive holiday gift giving budget during the healthiest of economic times.
Feed It Forward 2009 features include:
- Generous “daily give” allowance – Givers can give to up to 30 people per day, with the potential of giving up to $9,000 worth of Restaurant.com gift certificates through the duration of the program.
- Feed It Forward Facebook application – The application allows givers to easily access their friend network and select those they wish to give to. Night At The Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian
I’m going to come right out and say that I did not see the first installment of this series. Not that I didn’t want to, but I believe our youngest was taking up all of our TV and film time when the first one came out. So when I was asked to review Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian
I was happy to, in a way, see what I was missing. Thanks to Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment I was able to check out the Blu-ray Disc/DVD Combo Pack (Blu-ray, DVD and a Digital Copy) of the movie. I am a person that really enjoys the type of comedy that Ben Stiller brings to the screen. His sarcastic realism cracks me up every time I watch him interact with different characters, and believe me when I say there are tons of characters in this movie.
The boys and I watched this the other night while the ladies were out. From the beginning they were interested in this movie that had not only people dressed in crazy costumes, characters that could fit in the palm of their hands, and animals of all types running all throughout this huge warehouse. The movie does have a good storyline from what I can tell even though I didn’t see the first one. It would be hard to catch up with the overarching story if you are just tuning in on this movie. The cast of characters and the effects they used to create and differentiate all of them were very neat and had me asking “how’d they do that?”

Ben Stiller (Meet The Parents, There’s Something About Mary) stars as Larry Daley, a former night watchman at the Museum of Natural History, where the exhibits come alive after dark. But now Larry’s nocturnal friends are being retired to the archives of the Smithsonian Institution, luring him back for a hilarious, all-out battle against a cranky Egyptian Pharaoh who plans to take over the museum… and the world! From returning director Shawn Levy (Cheaper By The Dozen), the film also stars Amy Adams (Enchanted), Robin Williams (Good Will Hunting), Owen Wilson (Wedding Crashers), Hank Azaria (“The Simpsons”), Ricky Gervais (“The Office”), Steve Coogan (Tropic Thunder) and Jonah Hill (Super Bad).
My Mini-Synopsis of the Movie
Ben Stiller plays an ex-security guard named Larry now turned product inventor that gets called back to his old museum of employment because some of the exhibits are going to be sent to the Smithsonian and be packed away. Supposedly when the sun goes down and the exhibits are in the vicinity of this tablet thingy, they all come to life. So now Larry must go and try to rescue them. Larry finds the evil brother to another egyptian dude from his museum that wants to rule the world now. Stiller joins forces with Amelia Earhart who he finds hot. They embark on trying to stop the pharoah dude, Al Capone, and other famous baddies while the entire Smithsonian wakes up. Owen Wilson is his usual self.

Birkenstock Boston Review and Giveaway (Closed)
For years and years I have heard of people using the name “Birkenstock“. When I was younger I thought that it was a follow-up concert to Woodstock. Little did I know, years later, I would be have the chance to really find out what Birkenstocks are and figure out why I had never worn them before. I was contacted by Birkenstock to have the opportunity to “walk a mile in their shoes this fall”. See, every step a man takes puts 500 pounds of pressure on his feet – that’s why all of their shoes mold over time to the wearer’s foot, offering individualized support.
I was sent the Boston Soft Footbed Clog in Mocha Suede. When I first got the pair of shoes, I admittedly was apprehensive about wearing a pair of clogs. Most guys when they hear the word clogs, shudder and think that only hippies parading around smelling like patchouli and eating turkey legs wear them. Well, I was wrong about everything. Upon putting them on, the shoes felt very roomy and comfortable. They looked good with shorts and even looked great with jeans.

I am someone who usually only wears flip-flops or some sort of athletic shoe. For this reason when I wore the shoes during the first day I was not happy. They were totally different than anything I had worn before and my feet were really miserable. I believe this to be because my feet had to get used to the feel and the overall feeling of the shoe. Since then, my feet and the shoes get along great now and it really feels like it is “my” shoe that is customized for me. Another thing that would have normally make me hesitate on getting a pair of shoes like this is the price. The price of most Boston’s is around $130 and I never pay that much for shoes. But, you get what you pay for and I believe that I will be making more purchases from Birkenstock in the future.
