Outback Steakhouse Dinner With Dad Experience Giveaway

Computing On the Go
Recently Crystal has been traveling all over the U.S. these days. She went to LA for four days, came back for a day, and then left the day after that to go to Detroit. Next she goes to Seattle for a weekend getaway to cover something else. We both take a trip together at the beginning of August to San Diego for BlogHer 11. She has really been complaining about the size and weight of her current laptop and has showed a definite interest in learning more about and then maybe getting a netbook to take on trips. I told her it was a great idea because I know I was going to end up carry her twenty pound monster at some time on the trip.
We have been talking about it more and more in the last week and I just thought it was time to look into actually doing something about it. We sat down and talked about it and she said that she really didn’t see any sense in having another actual computer sitting around so I brought up the idea of her maybe getting a tablet pc to be even more of a portable soultion for her. So, after lunch on Sunday I took her to pick out one and we settled on her getting an iPad2. She got it complete with a pink protector case. Somebody is happy with her little solution and I am happy I won’t have back problem if I have to carry her stuff when we are out of town.

My oldest son is a Mario freak. He loves playing old and new school versions that include Mario and his “super” cast of friends. To bring the play experience even closer to home K’NEX has come out with their line of building sets from Mario Kart Wii.

Uh… What broke?
I came home the other day from work and everything was going on as normal. Kids were driving Crystal crazy, the dog was on the couch as he was not supposed to be, and the smell of dinner was lingering in the airmosphere. After food and playtime I noticed that it was really warm in the house. When I wandered over to the thermostat it read 85 degrees! I was like “what the crap…what do I do now?” We don’t have any sort of home protection plan that covers this and I don’t know how to fix it.
My father-in-law came over and took a look at it and said either the fan motor or a small electrical transistor went out. I asked him if he knew how to fix it but that turned out to be a “no”. He did know a guy that works on them and said that it shouldn’t take too long to fix. I called and a couple of days later he came out and fixed me right up. Turns out it was a small itty-bitty little electrical component. I’m not saying how much that little thing and the visit cost me. Since then I have looked into some ways to safeguard me against little things that go out and break on me. Home warranties like what American Home Shield has to offer look really appealing. I just know that the I need to look into something before I spend all my free time on the phone trying to find someone to fix the junk when it breaks and then go broke trying to pay them.
Transformers Beast Wars Review
We like Transformers at our house. Long before Sam Witwicky came wandering into our Transformers movies we were serious fans. In the late 90′s there was a series that tried to re-kindle the magic of the series in the 80′s. This series was called Transformers Beast Wars and it was quite revolutionary. The great peeps over at Shout! Factory have revived this hit is available now for you to buy and love.

Pros: Kids love it, new twist to some familiar characters, and the chance to get the entire series at once or just a taste!
Cons: The CG is nowhere near what we have today and can seem dated…but it is so that is okay.

Things Remembered Review and Giveaway
Things Remembered has the hook up for dad on his day. Looking through their pamphlet for Fathers Day, I see all kinds of great stuff: watches, bracelets, dog tags, usb pens, multi-tools, money clips, mugs, frames and my favorite, flasks.
Not only does Things Remembered have great gifts but you can get it all engraved with dad’s name or a little message on how much he means to you. Like I said, my favorite is the flask. I got mine engraved with my name. It holds 7 ounces of pure liquid bravery for sharing or not. It has a beautiful sleek gunmetal finish. Right there that says, “I’m a man!”
I love this flask. I’ve always wanted one and I am sure I am not the only dad out there who does. It is an awesome gift that just keeps on giving and with his name engraved on the side, it has that personal touch. This tells everyone, “I am a man and this here flask is mine so back off.(actual product does not really talk)” And if dad isn’t a drinker, Things Remembered has a ton of great products that make excellent gifts. Racer Treadz Review
Fathers Day is coming and some people are scratching their heads wondering what to get for dad. One option is Racer Treadz flip flops. I’ve walked many a mile in a pair of flip flops and I can say that this product did not add or take away from that experience. The pair I received to try out were no different than the $1 pair you can find at the department store, real plain and simple. They do have some added value for those who love NASCAR and all that it stands for.
